Anastasiya Tarasenko

Anastasiya Tarasenko (b. 1989) is from Kiev, Ukraine, and moved to New York City with her family at the age of 6, living there ever since. She pursued her passion for art from a young age, attending various art schools before earning her MFA from the New York Academy of Art in 2017. Based in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, Tarasenko's work provides a sharp and biting critique of society and the self. Through humorously dark and provocative portrayals of the human experience, her art delves into the contradictions of life, exploring how joy and pain coexist. Employing both figuration and abstraction, she offers a multifaceted exploration of the complexities of existence.
